We offer 3 sizes of Aquadam (18", 2ft, 3ft) which are designed to be deployed and recovered on flat ground which has an ample supply of water, such as a river or lake, close at hand. Aquadam comes in 100ft lengths. |

Q. How does Aquadam work? |
A. Look at the diagram below. The aquadam consists of 2 inner tubes (A+B) and an outer tube (C). As the inner tunes fill with water they are restrained by the outer tube. As long as the 2 inner tubes are filled symetrically a vertical face is formed between tubes A and B. This vertical face resists rolling and so an effective dam is formed. |
Q. The Aquadams in the pictures seem larger than 1.5ft and 2ft. Why is this? |
A. They are larger! We have made the decision that 1.5ft and 2ft Aquadams are the most suitable sizes for domestic use. The larger dams require specialist handling equipment. We operate on a supply only basis and so do not offer training or site survey. The smaller Aquadams are simple to use if the supplied instructions. are followed. |
Q. Are Aquadams suitable for all locations? |
A. No. They are a simple barrier and must be placed on flat ground that will not puncture the material or allow water to pass beneath the barrier. It is important to observe the Maximum Flood Depth for the Aquadam of your choice. If this is exceeded the dam will fail. |

The equipment in our Aquadam Kits comprises a 2" gasoline pump, splitter, 2m, 2x5m and 1x6m 2" rigid pipe, clamps and supply strainer. |
Q. Are Aquadams suitable for everybody? |
A. No. Aquadams require a degree of physical strength and good mobility. 2 people would be required to recover and make an 18" dam ready for the next deployment. 3 to 4 people would be need for the 2ft dams. We strongly recommend practising deployment and recovery and regular testing and maintenance of your pumping equipment. |
Q. What do you guarantee? |
A. We will guarantee equipment against faulty materials and manufacture to the value of your original order. We do not guarantee that Aquadam is a suitable product for your intended application or that you will successfully deploy the equipment. |
Q. How long will you take to deliver? |
A. We quote 6 - 8 weeks for delivery but expect to be able to deliver much sooner. The reason for such lengthy delivery times is that Aquadam has to be imported from America and this takes time. We will contact you when delivery is imminent. |
Q. How do I pay? |
A. We accept cheques or Paypal. Because we have to import the Aquadams from America we ask for 50% payment with your order. At this point we fix the price and the currency risk is ours. Once we have received your Aquadam into stock we will ask for final payment prior to despatch to your delivery address. |
Additional 100ft lengths of Aquadam charged at 90% of Aquadam only price if ordered at the same time. |
Q. What is Max flood depth? |
A. This is a very important parameter. Max flood depth is the maximum depth of water an Aquadam will hold back. If the flood water becomes deeper than this the dam may fail. |

A. 18" Aquadam 43kg empty, 9.5 tonnes full, Max Flood Depth 0.36m (1'2"), inflated width 0.91m. 2ft Aquadam 55kg empty, 20.8 tonness full, Max Flood Depth 0.46m (1'6"), inflated width 1.22m. 3ft Aquadams 114kg empty, 20.8 tonnes full, Max Flood Depth 0.76m (2'6"), inflated width 2.13m. You'll need access to lifting equipment to recover this size of Aquadam following deployment eg a tractor. |

Q. What if I need to protect 280ft or just 70ft? |
A. Aquadams come with collars that allow dams to be connected ad infinitum. For deployments shorter than 100ft simply raise the non fill end above the highest point of the dam and tie it in place. Water doesn't flow up hill! |
